Welcome to the Jewish Association in Uppsala

We are a non-profit association aiming to form a Jewish community in Uppsala. Our Association was formed in 1947 by Jews who arrived in Uppsala after surviving the Holocaust concentration camps. The following generations have worked hard to keep the association active. For more information concerning our association please visit Association's history.

Our main purpose today is to observe and celebrate Jewish holidays together, as well as arranging activities for children, families and seniors. We organise meetings focusing on Jewish culture. Our association, currently includes members that can be helpful in a variety of situations, for example, in the death of loved one. We also interact with representatives from similar organisations and with Uppsala Municipality.

All of our activities are formed on the basis of voluntary work from our board and members. We are financed through membership fees and a financial contribution from Uppsala Municipality, as well as from the Jewish Community of Stockholm, with whom we have a partnership.
